We purchased these 12 Port Patch Panels for our installs if clients do not request or wish to pay the higher price for Leviton. Quality similiar to Leviton at 1/3rd the price. No failures after 30 installs.
I have now purchased two of these (style) panels for both by home and my brothers. In both situations, mounting and wiring were simple tasks. I haven't had any problems with the panel popping out of the brackets, but I do agree with one reviewer the mounting bracket does feel a little weak. Overall: very satisfied and would quickly purchase again if needed.
Well it hangs on the wall and you can terminate all of your cables to it. What more could you want. I haven't had any issues with it falling off the wall, or cables coming undone so I say buy it.
The construction of the patch panel itself is very solid. I have no problem punching down all 12 connections. However, the bracket is a bit on the weak side. The patch panel popped out of the wall bracket easily a few times.
I fully renovated our new house, and in doing so ran cat5 to all the rooms to the basement. I punched down the wiring to this patch panel and mounted it in a distributed wiring box. The panel was easy to use with a punch down tool for me who had little experience doing so & it was well labeled so I didn't have to keep referencing printouts for wiring diagrams. Plus the price was right.
